Barkan pricing

You pay for what Barkan finishes for your users. No seats, no monthly-active-user tiers, no contract.

The short answer

You pay for what Barkan finishes: $1.50 per completed onboarding and $0.60 per successful conversation. An onboarding someone abandons costs nothing. Every site starts with $25 in credits and no card. No seats, no contract.

What you pay for

  • $1.50 per completed onboarding. A guided tour explicitly reported as completed. A tour that was declined, abandoned or left early costs nothing.

  • $0.60 per successful conversation. One visitor on one site, for up to fifteen minutes and ten turns, billed only when the visitor got an answer, was shown the way, had the task done, or was handed to your team with a written ticket.

  • $25 in credits to start. Every site gets them, with no card: its first 16 onboardings.

  • Enterprise: for products with real traffic, and teams that need SSO, an SLA and someone to call, a custom annual contract.

What is never billed

  • Seats: invite your whole team.

  • Monthly active users: there are no traffic tiers.

  • An onboarding someone abandons.

  • A turn that failed.

What does a month cost?

Take a product with 200 new signups in a month. 120 of them finish the guided onboarding, and 300 conversations help someone. The month costs 120 × $1.50 + 300 × $0.60 = $360. The 80 signups who did not finish cost nothing.

Product tour tools usually price by monthly active users, and adoption platforms by seat, so their bill grows with your traffic whether or not anyone finishes. Barkan’s follows outcomes: a finished onboarding, or a conversation that helped.

Questions people ask

What counts as an onboarding?

A guided tour explicitly reported as completed, with a successful step recorded. Each is $1.50. A tour that was declined, abandoned or left early costs nothing.

What counts as a conversation?

One visitor on one site for up to fifteen minutes and ten turns. A turn is a message they send, or a step Barkan takes on its own to do what they asked: pointing at a control, clicking it, moving to another page. Turns that failed are never counted. A conversation is billed $0.60 only when it was successful: the visitor got an answer, was shown the way, had the task done, or was handed to your team with a written ticket.

How do credits work?

Each site has its own prepaid balance. You add credits with a card and usage draws on them. Every site starts with $25 free. Turn on auto-reload and the balance tops itself up under a threshold you choose; set alerts for a low balance or a monthly budget.

What happens when the credits run out?

The widget pauses on that site and the owner gets an email. Add credits and it is back within seconds, with every setting and conversation kept.
